Derby Girl Posters was started in the summer of 2012 by Katherine Allan (Allan Wench) and Brad Bisinger (Brad to the Bone). Together, they had the idea that everybody who skates, refs, or is otherwise involved in anything about roller derby should be able to be their own star.
With that idea they decided to start making high-quality roller derby posters that anyone could easily customize. Inspired by vintage derby art, minimalist poster design, as well as modern concepts – Derby Girl Posters has a bit of something for everyone!
We print all of our designs on Kodak Professional Supra Endura VC Digital Paper. It is the most popular paper used by professionals around the globe. Accurate color, realistic saturation, and greater intensity are just a few of the benefits of this paper. With a Standard Archival Value of 100 years in home display (200 years in dark storage) your moment will last a lifetime.
Believe it or not, but we do not use inks or toners. The Kodak Endura Series of paper is exposed to an RGB laser to “print” the image. This allows for extreme details with precise and detailed lines. No smudging, no smearing. Technology is amazing.
Great consideration was taken when choosing our frames. We use simple, but classic, solid wood frames finished in a matte black. Every framed design comes with either a saw-tooth hanging bracket or a heavy-test all metal frame wire, depending on the artwork’s finished size. Our frames are 1-5/8″ thick and sit 3/4″ tall.
MOUNTING & MAT BOARDS
With both our standard and premium framing options we mount your design on standard 1/8″ foam board. Our premium framing option includes a 2″ double mat (white on black). We use Papermat mat boards which have a buffered, pH neutral core and backing paper which is perfect for quality picture framing.
